| there are about...... 7 other things I should be utilizing this lunch-time for but right now I think I'd rather eat some pasta, drink this soda, and type out my Top 10 Albums of 2008. So here you go kids, in no particular order of course (who has time for that?)
1. Sigur Ros :: mɛð sʏð i ˈeiːrʏm vɪð ˈspɪːlʏm ˈɛntaløyst 2. Bon Iver :: For Emma, Forever ago 3. Delta Spirit :: Ode to Sunshine 4. Charlie Hall :: the Bright Sadness 5. She and Him :: Volume One 6. Thao with the Get Down Stay Down :: We Brave Bee Stings and All 7. Sun Kill Moon :: April 8. N.E.R.D. :: Seeing Sounds 9. Beau Jennings :: And the Holy Tulsa Thunder 10. Abe Vigoda :: Skeleton
So many good tunes this year. I hope 2009 is even better. |

| It's strange to think that we were in the midst of the Icepocalypse this time last year. I guess technically more last week. I was holed up at the halfie with my roommates sitting by the stove since we had gas but no electricity playing scrabble, cooking casseroles and drinking whiskey to stay warm. Weird stuff. I hope it doesn't happen again. It looks like it already has in the Northeast. sorry dudes.
I've been having the wackiest dreams lately. Dreams that I take my girlfriend snowboarding and she blows away off of the ski lift, going to see Tyler, Wes and Adam's rap group play and Tyler radio-editing the song on-stage because his mom is at the show. Dreams about what I should make my family for Christmas, about songs I should write, Brady telling me to "write strong lyrics". I even had one last night where I was an actor in a film and I was played opposite and a wild card Billy Zane sort of character and in the film we were both vying for the love of a terminally ill princess. He was taking it more seriously, beyond the story and becoming the character in real life and he tried to kill me in an intense trampoline battle scene. My brain has some weird ideas.
anyway, hope you're all staying warm. Watch out for that mistletoe. |

| I accidently volunteered for a non-partisan voter registration drive on monday and found myself in van buren elementary school in oklahoma city after work on tuesday. thanks to ben kennedy, i found out about my volunteering, and he even gave me a ride. it was a good time. it seems like an easy thing to do at shows, so if i am playing a show before the elections (pretty sure i am) i think i may do something similar.
other things that have happened and that are happening.
beau and jodi's wedding was the most fun i've had in a long, long time. and that's huge because i have a lot of fun all of the time.
i was drinking some wine and just as a took a gulp, saw a struggling fly in my glass. i tried to save him but the drain ate him instead. sorry jeff goldbloom.
i cooked a sad-eat-alone-brand pizza for dinner tonight and to have for lunch tomorrow. but to spice up my life i cut it up not in the normal pie chart form but to look like hurricane ike. it ended up looking more like a bunch of C's spooning, but that's good too. easy to pick up too!
I hugely suggest you pick up the new Gazette that came out today as the very lovely Becky Carmenensteinenskies got the cover! Crap i'm proud of her! if you don't live in oklahoma, check it out here.
very good, stay well my friend.
